Alexander Talal

Alexander Talal (born in 1974 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan) graduated from the University of California in Berkeley, obtaining a B.A. degree in Film Studies in 2001. Studied film history and theory, screenwriting and acting. Talal is the author of the English translation and additional dialogues for the movie “Escape from Afghanistan” (US video release version of Timur Bekmambetov’s “Peshawar Waltz”).

His original screenplay “Waiting for the Seventh Day” made it into the top ten at the American “Screenplay as Literature” competition in 2001.

Talal has worked for Bazelevs Production since 2003, serving as Head of the Literary Department.

Co-wroteDay Watch” (2006) and “Black Lightning” (2009), wrote “Space Dogs 3D” animated feature (2010). Mentioned films, produced by Channel One Russia, Bazelevs and CNF, were released by 20th Century Fox, Universal and Epic, respectively. Wrote a 16-episode TV series “Lednikov” for Russia-1 TV channel.

He is also the Supervising professor of screenwriting faculty at Moscow Film School.
